Another week and it’s another roll out of Federal and State Government relief packages.

After yesterday’s 130-billion dollar Commonwealth Stimulus, the State Government today unveiled its own billion dollar relief package focusing on small business and Western Australian households.

The highlights from the McGowan Government’s package includes:

  • A one-off $2,500 credit for small Synergy and Horizon Power customers that consume less than 50 megawatt hours per annum.
  • A waiver or refund of liquor licence renewal fees for 2020 (includes  existing application fees)
  • The ability for affected businesses to apply for an interest-free payment arrangement and for late payment penalties to be waived for payroll tax, transfer duty, landholder duty, vehicle licence duty or land tax.
  • The reassurance that small businesses facing financial difficulty due to COVID-19 won’t face power or water disconnections due to late payments.

This is encouraging news for our industry and I urge you to read the State Government’s package directly HERE

The Federal Government’s stimulus package announced yesterday offers employers the opportunity to keep staff on their books with the job seeker payment.
