Premier Mark McGowan has responded to questions in State Parliament over concerns relating to the liquor restrictions imposed on publicans and bottle shop owners.

Last week the state government imposed state wide liquor restrictions for takeaway packaged alcohol.

Under the restrictions a person can purchases one carton; three bottles of wine; one litre of spirits; one litre of fortified wine; or a combination of any two (but not the same product).

Liberal MP Alyssa Hayden, who is the opposition spokesperson for small business and tourism asked the Premier during question time why online liquor merchants from interstate could still sell cheap and unlimited alcohol in WA, but local retailers had to comply with the restrictions.
