The CEO of the Liquor Stores Association of Western Australia Peter Peck spoke to ABC Kimberley this week about the extension of liquor restrictions in Broome and other tourism hot spots in the top end being hit with further restrictions.
The LSAWA has renewed called for the introduction of a Banned Drinkers Register (BDR) in the Kimberley to complement the implementation of the scheme in the Pilbara.
A BDR trial is set for the North-West for the region to cover cities and town including Port-Hedland, Karratha, Tom Price, Newman and others in a bid to stop problem drinkers cause alcohol fuelled violence.
